The company Brüggen was founded in 1868 for the processing of buckwheat. In the 1960s, Brüggen became the first German company to start producing cornflakes. This marked the company's shift from raw material processing to modern food production. Shortly before 1989, Brüggen expanded into muesli production and opened a second plant in Lübeck, where ready-to-eat breakfast cereals are produced today.
From the very beginning, the company has upheld a philosophy of offering high-quality products at attractive prices. For this reason, Brüggen does not invest in expensive marketing strategies. Instead, its products promote themselves by exemplifying an outstanding price-to-quality ratio.
Brüggen ensures quality control even before production begins by carefully selecting raw materials. All raw materials undergo inspection in a specialized laboratory. Additionally, Brüggen products are regularly tested by the Agricultural Chamber of Schleswig-Holstein. Since 1997, Brüggen's quality management system has been certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001. In 2000, the company also passed certification in compliance with the Danish HACCP standard DS 3027.
Brüggen treats product quality with the utmost care as a tribute to customer trust and satisfaction.
